Debaye.
There is good anchorage at Debaye, with the large fort E. i S., close in
to the beach, in about four or three and a half fathoms, with shelter fr **
om
the north-west if the reef is kept close on board, the shoal water of which
is quite distinguishable from the channel. A vessel anchoring within
two hundred yards of the beach would require to slip her "cable in
case of a north-wester coming on, but by doing this, with a spring to
cast her to the southward, might stand off with ease.
