POPULATION AND CHIEFS.
The population of the several Arab towns is constantly varying, for
reasons which have been before adverted to. Those of the first class__
Aboothabee, Shargah, and Ras-ool-Khyma—may be said to contain I
from 2,000 to 3,500 houses. Of the second class, Amulgavine, Ejman,
Debaye, and Jazirat-ool-Hamrah, from 1,000 to 1,500 houses; and the
smaller, such as Khan, Hey rah, Fasht, &c., from 500 to S00 houses.
