been no permanent changes in the personnel of tbe Residency during tho past
year. Captain P. Lnmsdcn, Residency Surgeon, took furlough to
England in May 1898, and Captain E. Wickham Bore, I.M.S., has acted for
him, remaining at Bushiro during tho remainder of the year. In Novombor
1898, Mr. J. P. Sequoira, the Uncovonanted Assistant to the Resident, wont
to India on two years* leave, and Blr. P. Candhy, tho Head Clerk and Dragoman
at Bu6rah, took his place. Lieutenant F. B. Pridcaux, First Assistant Resident,
took short leave to India, and the Residency Surgeon, with the approval of tho
Government of India, carried on his duties during his absence.
