46 ANNUAL REPORT OP THH PERSIAN GULP POLITICAL RESIDENCY.
CHAPTER IX*
ADMINISTRATION REPORT FOR THE TRUCIAL COAST FOR Tijj
YEAR 1917.
The Trucial coast has had absolutely no history during this year. Khan
Bahadur Abdul Latif continued in charge of British interests, and maintained
his position satisfactorily.
The pearl market was dull and the catch poor, A number of boats did
not put to sea. Under the circumstances there was little chance of much
progress being made with tho settlement of cases, although the Deputy
Political Resident made a tour with this object in October.
There were no changes amoDg the Shaikhs, and no events worthy of
record.
