Kerman at the end of December, and are awaiting trial for armed brigandage.
At the time of writing, diplomatic negotiations with Baluchi chiefs and the
release of Sardar Hussein Khan (son of late Sardar Sa’id Khan) at Iranshahr
have brought about a more conciliatory atmosphere in Persian Baluchistan, in
spite of the fact that cases of raid by solitary outlaws arc still being brought to
notice from time to time, and Alxlul llusscin Ivamran continues to defy the
authority of the Government in Bashakird.

The Public Pleader and Investigating Judge proceeded to Jiruft and is
Kudbar in the beginning of March. As the result of their enquiries, the son of
Zarglium-us-Sultnneh, who had been under detention in Kerman for several
months, was released on hail, while two or three more murders were said to have
been added to the list of charges against the Zargham’s step-son, Sa’id Khan
(Sa’id Nizam). In spite of this, Said Khan, who was also under detention in
Kerman, succeeded in obtaining his release at the end of July, by producing hail
amounting in all to JLlials 200,000.
