                         His Majesty’s Consul has received courteous and ready assistance
                     from the Governor General throughout the year. Also from the Police
                     and Municipal authorities, the only officials whom he is able to approach
                     freely. The remainder, as well as the military,, have instructions to avoid
                     any contact with him. * This prohibition still extends to all notables,
                     merchants, &c., who must explain their business with II. M. Consul to
                     the police before visiting him.
                         Weather.—Total rainfall during the year 1935 was 14-15 inches against
                     17-23 inches for 1934.
                        Rains fell at the proper seasons and were beneficial.
                        Temperatures:
                          Minimum on January 14th and 15th                      24* F.
                          Maximum on August 17th and 19th                       98°F.
