                Anolhor serious case of piracy and murder occurred later in the year, this
             ,0 being committed on a Kuwait ballam. The four culprits who were the
             jrjuali crew of the ballam were captured at Lingali on the Mail Steamer
             *'J3aroda ” and were returned to Kuwait. B391 and £25 were found in
             their possession, while later on 111,772, which the private crew had hidden
             between Chiru and Kalat, was unearthed, one of the prisoners eventually wil­
             dly showing the spot w here they had hidden tho money.
               One of the most important events of the year was tho completion of the

                Persian Gulf Light Home Works.

               Assistant Surgeon J. Johnstone, I.S.M.D., has been in charge of tho charifc-

            and is most conscientious in the discharge of his duties.

            broken out iu January at Bibai and at other places on the Trucial Coast, that
            tie disease was kept out of Lingah. In April, plague even broke out at Kalat
            aid Chiru, on the Persian Coast, hut all the roads were guarded and people
            were not allowed to enter the town from these places, before being medically
            examined, and undergoing quarantine.
               Quarantine restrictions against Bibai were removed at tbe end of August
            when tho Port was declared free from plague.
               Majort Hunt, T.M.S., Chief Quarantine Medical Officer in the Persian
            Gulf, visited Lingah on the lGth of October and inspected the Quarantijne
            Station.
