Further, the project of biomass energy to develop the rural area as initiated by iGrow may best indicate its effort in Qualitative
promoting the SDGs of clean energy (SDG 7) and life on land (SDG evidence from
15). The iGrow ’ s founder, Iqbal (2018) , explained that an approximate number of 48,000 villages in Indonesia Indonesia
has been underdeveloped due to a common factor; the owners do not have access of fi nance to commercialise
it. He estimated 400 ha of each village as the potential land to plant Calliandra Calothyrsu, which is bene fi cial to
fertilise the soil and for biomass energy production. Further, Iqbal (2018) claimed that such a project is expected
to employ around 800 local farmers and produce about 4-megawatt biomass energy, which is environmentally 363
safe. Brie fl y, this information disclosed may best represent a practical effort contributed by the Islamic fi ntech to
           empower the underdeveloped countryside.

In all, given the present circumstance of Indonesian poverty has highly occurred among farming family, the
evidence from Crowde, TaniFund and iGrowmay best capture their efforts in advancing the economy of a farming
family. From this basis, it is rationale to see the
fi ndings as their representative in promoting zero poverty (SDG 1), ending hunger by (SDG 2), initiating affordable and
clean energy (SDG 7) and protecting the ecosystem (SDG 15).

4.2 Donating the victims of natural disaster and con fl ict
Natural disasters and con fl ict are among the factors that have caused hunger worldwide ( United Nations, 2018 ).
In Indonesia, the number of starving people may have been increasing since the past few years in the wake of
           natural disasters happened.
In 2018, natural catastrophes had hit the country several times, such as the repetitive earthquake in Lombok
which had caused more than 500 deaths and resulted 390,592 refugees ( Kompas, 2018 ), earthquake with
Tsunami in Palu which killed more than 2,000 people ( Tempo, 2018 ) and destroyed 12,238 buildings ( Tribunnews,
2019 ) and the December 2018 Tsunami in Banten which took the life of more than 400 people and smashed
2,752 houses ( CNBC Indonesia, 2019 ). With the current development of fi ntech P2P lending in Indonesia has
been supporting the collection and distribution of donation funds; in this regard, such informationmay best
capture their contribution to mitigate hunger (SDG 2).

Of the selected fi rms which have disclosed a piece of information about the recent donation project are
Ammana and KapitalBoost with the number of 9 and 17 projects, respectively. The 5 current donation projects of
Ammana aim at providing assistance for the victim of natural disaster. Meanwhile in KapitalBoost, 4 of its
projects were designed for helping both refugees and the victims of calamities for which the amount of the
donation is in the range of Rp31m (US$2.193) to Rp21m (US$1.462).

The donation programmes of Ammana and KapitalBoost for the victims of the recent national disasters and
con fl ict, to some degree, have revealed relevant viewpoint of the sampled fi rms concerning on humanity. Given
disasters and con fl icts have caused the increasing number of starving people, the point as elaborated in the
above text may indicate the selected fi rms ’ contribution to advocating the notion of ending hunger (SDG 2).

4.3 Collecting and distributing infaq, waqf and sadaqah funds
In Islam, the nature of infaq, waqf and sadaqah funds accommodate the idea of equitable distribution of wealth ( Aziz
et al., 2008 ). With this in mind, it makes sense to argue that these funds are in line with the idea of inequality
reduction (SDG 10). The fi ndings from the sampled fi rms which have been collecting and distributing these funds
may best suggest their efforts in lowering inequalities.

Among the reviewed fi rms which inform their services of collection and distribution of
infaq, waqf and sadaqah are Ammana and DanaSyariah. Currently, there are three infaq
projects of Ammana, which the project ’ s amount is in the range of Rp3m (US$207) to Rp50m
