USING THE ASSESSMENT CENTRE
EXERCISE LIBRARY
These business simulation exercises are designed to generate behavioural evidence
of the required competencies for a particular job role.
These exercises are intended for
off-the-shelf use in an assessment and
development centre setting. Every
exercise consists of a number of
different documents, which are
important in the implementation of the
exercise.
Someof the exercise components are for
Some
one-time use only, i.e. they must be
destroyed or archived for reference after
a single administration. Some are
reusable, i.e. they can be used
repeatedly by the same person.
One –time Use
Participant Brief (PB) – this is required
for each participant who is expected to
complete the exercise and is a
component for all exercise types.
Participant Reflection (PR) – each
participant should be given a copy of
this for each exercise they complete so
that they can comment on how they
approached the task
Marking Framework (MF) – one is
required per participant per exercise so
that each assessor can record any
ratings and write a summary of the
participant’s performance in the
exercise.
Reusable
Assessor Guide (AG) – each assessor needs to have an AG for their personal use.
This is a component for all exercise types.
Administration Instructions (AI) – instructions are required for the person
responsible for administering each exercise. This document is automatically
provided with every exercise.
Roleplayer Brief (RB) – one set of instructions is required for each roleplayer
