100 Day Report

Since the 100 days of the start of the 49th Adminis- tration of Grand Sire Ar- chon Dwayne Murray, the following activity has taken place within the office of the Grand Finance Committee chair:
• Appointments of the following extremely experien- ced, talented and committed Archons were made to the Grand Finance Committee (GFC): Archons A. Ronald Berryman, Michael Bruno, Dexter Perry, Robin Royals, Hilliard Terry, James Welch, Alfred White and Trent Williams. Grand Grammateus Ba- cote works alongside the committee and attends all meetings.
• Kickoff meeting was held with all in attendance on October 10, 2020.
• GFC affirmed and/or approved the following:
Grand Finance Committee’s (GFC) Responsibility:
The GFC, per the Grand Constitution, is a standing committee of the Grand Boulé. This committee is responsible for overseeing the preparation of the Fra- ternity’s budgets and financial statements; overseeing the administration, collection, and disbursement of the Fraternity’s financial resources; and advising the Grand Boulé Executive Committee (GBEC) with respect to the making of significant financial decisions. This responsibility is carried out in collaboration with the Grand Grammateus–Executive Secretary who has the responsibility for preparing, managing and operating the Fraternity’s resources within the EC-approved budget.

GFC 2020-21 Goals:
1. Establish and garner approval for 2021 budget. 2. Work with Grand Sire Archon and the compen- sation committee to complete staff performan-
ce reviews and compensation consideration. 3. Review all financial protocols, policies and
procedures.
4. Review all major financial contracts.
5. Work with the Executive Committee to evaluate
current and optimal operating model.
6. Keep all accountable to executing the fraternity
business within budget and within policy.
The GFC has reviewed and discussed August year-to-date financials and by the time of
the reading of this report, the GFC will have reviewed financials at least up to September 2020 as financials are submitted within thirty days following the last day of the prior month.
The GFC chair has worked with Grand Sire Archon Murray, Grand Thesauristes Bruno and Grand Grammateus Bacote on the amended 2020 budget that will be reviewed by the GFC and the Executive Committee for final appro- val by November 15, 2020. The same process and timing is being followed in establishing the 2021 budget. We also worked on transitio- ning financial management from the previous administration and worked on a travel policy enhancement recommendation that was ulti- mately approved by the Executive Committee.
