Camera On and Give Non-Verbal Responses. Turn your camera on whenever possible. It's helpful for people to see your non-verbal responses. Nod, thumbs ups, smile to show that you are listening and tracking.
Keep Your Face Energized. Try to energize your face throughout. Smile. There's nothing worse than looking at boxes of stone faced people. Energizing your face helps people know that you are engaged.
Be Transparent. Transparency is helpful in mitigating miscommunication. Share what's going on. This helps others NOT create story, nor create assumptions.
for Grace—grace for yourself and others.
Tone: Be aware of the tone of your voice. Is it in alignment with your message? Does it have the energy you want? Make shifts if necessary. Remember it's about connection over perfection. Our voice helps us to connect.
Share Emotion: Emotion is good. It's effective and professional to hear emotion in the voice. When we share emotion in our non-verbals and facial expressions, along with our voice (prosody) we let people know that we are engaged. This help us to connect.
