The Position
Reporting directly to the the the City City Manager this position is is is responsible for executive direction strategic leadership and and management of of the the the the Community Development Development Department including the the the the following Divisions and and and functions: City City Planning Building Economic Development Development Permit Services and and Code Enforcement (with the the the Chief of of Police) As the the the principal administrator of the the the Community Development Department and and and City Planner the the the Director plans organizes directs reviews and and and and manages all department department department activities activities and and and and functions While coordinating departmental activities activities with other City City City departments outside agencies community groups and and and and and individuals The Director also provides highly complex professional advice and and and and support to to to the the the City City City Manager City City City Council and and and and the the the Planning & Historic Preservation Commission assuring department compliance with and and and and and and enforcement of of of applicable federal state and and and and and and local laws laws ordinances ordinances and and and and and and codes manages and and and and and and supervises staff while serving as as a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a member of of the the City’s Executive Team and and and and Coordinate efforts to see that all laws laws and and and and ordinances ordinances are being properly enforced within the the City City Opportunities
The successful candidate will have an an an an an opportunity to manage and/or partner with other staff and and and agencies on the the following projects:
» A comprehensive update of the current 32-year old General Plan Historic Overlay District and and Zoning Codes These projects have been funded and are just beginning » Develop 4 Specific Specific Plans including the the Medical Arts District Specific Specific Plan Plan which includes the the Adventist/Rideout Hospital » » Partner with the the Yuba Water Agency to develop the the Ellis Lake Master Plan » » » Implement the the the Active Transportation Program Grant (w/Public Works Director) » » » Help launch the the City’s Parking Management Plan and » » Implement the the 5-acre City-owned B Street development project including RFP ERN and and DDA CitityyoffMarryyssvvililele CA—COMMUNITYDEVELOPMENTDIRECTOR 5
