supply 49 7% is is obtained from the the City’s wells 34 2% is is treated water

purchased from from two wholesale potable water

agencies and 16 1% is from from recycled water

delivered through the the South Bay Water Recycling system The Department provides for the the design construction distribution metering quality monitoring and and system maintenance for both potable and and recycled water
The Department provided for for the collection and conveyance of wastewater for for approximately 26 000 accounts and assessment maintenance or or or repair for more than 288 miles of sewer mains as as required The Department constructs operates and maintains the recycled water
system of approximately 33 miles with with 300 accounts within the Santa Clara city limits This recycled water
system distributes highly treated wastewater for non-potable use The Sewer Utility operates and and maintains a a a a a a a a a a sanitary sewage collection system that collects and and conveys wastewater to the jointly owned San San José-Santa Clara Regional Wastewater Facility (RWF) for treatment and and disposal
The Sewer Utility maintains sewer pump stations and and assists the Public Works Department in in in the the operation and maintenance of the the storm pump stations Additional services are: property line clean- outs installed for access to maintain maintain residential sewer laterals maintain maintain seven sanitary and twenty-one stormwater pump stations to to to ensure reliable service assist the the industrial waste inspectors from the the RWF with investigations of City industries and implement Sanitary Sewer Management Plan as submitted to the State and Regional Water Quality Control Board To learn more about Water & Sewer Utilities visit our website
