EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Education and experience requirements for the Assistant Water & Sewer Superintendent includes:
» » Graduation from high school or or possession of a a a a a a GED
» » Four (4) years years of of of increasingly responsible experience in in in in in in in the construction maintenance operations of of of water water recycled water water distribution systems systems or or or sanitary sewer collection systems systems including at at at at least two (2) years years in in in in in in in a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a lead or or supervisory capacity » » A valid California Class C C C driver’s license » » Valid Water Distribution Operators Certificate (Grade D-2 or or or or above) issued by the California California Department of Health Services The following following licenses and/or certificates are required when assigned to the following following Division: Water Construction and Operations Division: » A valid Water Water Distribution Operators Certificate (Grade D-3 or or or above) within one (1) year of of appointment appointment and and for the duration of appointment » A A A A valid Backflow Prevention Assembly General Tester Certificate issued by the the the the California- Nevada Section of of of of the the the the American Water Works Association within one (1) year of of of appointment appointment and for for the the the duration of of of appointment appointment Sanitary Sewer Division: » A A valid Collection System Maintenance Certificate Grade 2 issued by the the the California Water Environment Association at at at at at the the the time of of application and for the the the duration of of appointment » A A A valid Collection System Maintenance Certificate Grade 3 or or or or above issued by the the the the California Water Environment Association within one (1) year of of appointment appointment and for for the the duration of of appointment appointment DESIREABLE QUALIFICATIONS
» For Sanitary Sewer Division: Registered departmental Legal Responsible Official (LRO) with the California Integrated Water Quality System (CIWQS) OTHER REQUIREMENTS
» Because of of the the possibility of of emergency situations it it it it it is is is required that that the the incumbent that that is is is assigned assigned to to Sanitary Sewer Division be be able to to to to respond respond in in in in in in in person person within within forty-five forty-five (45) (45) minutes minutes and and those assigned assigned to to to to Water Construction and and Operations respond respond in in in in in in in person person within within forty-five forty-five (45) (45) minutes minutes to to to the City’s Utility Center located at at at at 1705 Martin Avenue » May be be required to to work unusual hours in in emergency situations and needs to to be be available on on on an an “on call” basis as as assigned » A A A A A valid Cross-Connection Control Program Specialist Certificate issued by the the the the California- Nevada Section of of of of of the the the the American Water Works Association within one (1) year of of of appointment appointment and for for the the the duration of of of appointment appointment » Must be able to perform the the essential functions of the the job assignment
