The Monterey County Department of Social Services administers over seventy programs that daily serve an estimated 160,000 residents of Monterey County.
The Position
Under general direction, the Deputy Director, Aging & Adult Services,
plans, implements, coordinates and directs the Department of Social Services’ Aging and Adult Services programs which include: Adult In Home Supportive Services, Adult Protective Services, SSI Advocacy, and Area Agency on Aging Older Americans Act programs; oversight of the Public Authority; supervises sta in providing program and/or administrative services; and, does other work as required to support the Department’s mission.
The Deputy Director, Aging & Adult Services, is responsible for the direction and supervision through a management team that includes second level managers (e.g. Program Managers) of one or more major program areas within the Department of Social Services. Incumbents develop, recommend and implement program services, policies and procedures, and administrative support.
The current vacancy is in the Aging and Adult Services Branch. The eligible list may be used to ll current and future Deputy Director Social Services vacancies.
