Story 42: Jake's Wake
To keep busy Bob fed the duck and drake,
George raked the lawn, and Sarah baked a
cake.
Their hard work had helped to keep their
minds off Jake, but good humor they could no
longer fake. You see, Jake was bitten by a
poisonous snake. And now his friends have
broken down in a tearful quake, at the dead
boy’s wake.
