Story 48: Saving His Brain
Cain is a swain living in rural Spain.
He says, "The problem with plane geometry is
that it's more complex than plain. To me this
stuff is a physical drain, and a big pain to my
overworked brain.
"My efforts to learn have all been in vain.
Besides, what can I gain? Yet I am fain to
strain, for otherwise my teacher will split my
brain in twain."
A swain is a country boy.
