Story 49: Impoliteness Reigns
When Skip Lane ordered steak but was
served chow mein, he said aloud, "I must
complain!"
He did, only to have his waitress exclaim,
"Buddy boy, you're lucky to be in out of the
rain."
Lane‒shocked by this ill-mannered vein of
disdain‒said, "I find my temper hard to rein.
Never have I seen such impoliteness reign,
especially here in Duquesne . . . and in a public
domain.
“No tip shall I tip you, Skip said to Jane,
for evidently you are already quite tipsy on
champagne!”
