Senior School

            Mainstream Academy Course


            Who can attend the Senior Mainstream Academy Course?
            Students ranging from S2 - age 21 who wish to attend UKTheatreSchool to acquire skills in acting, singing and
            dance.


            How often do students attend the Senior Mainstream Academy Course?
            Students on this course attend for 3 hours, one day per week.  There are classes on Monday evenings, Saturday
            afternoons or Sunday afternoons for this course.


            What productions are students on this course involved in?
            The  tuition  for  Christmas  Shows  is  included  in  the  Senior  School  Mainstream  course.    Students  may  also  be
            involved in class sharings throughout term time.


            What is taught in classes?
            During Mainstream Academy classes, students learn skills in all three of the core Performing Arts subjects.  These
            include:

            Acting        Acting technique, role play, improvisation, devising, storytelling, acting with props, script work,
                          applying technique to performance

            Singing       Group singing, building on singing repertoire, musical theatre, singing with rhythm instruments,
                          singing with movement, applying technique to performance

            Dance         Dance  technique,  jazz,  hip  hop,  street,  commercial,  dance  through  the  decades,  stretching,
                          flexibility, applying technique to performance


            Do students wear uniform?
            Yes, full UKTheatreSchool uniform should be worn to classes each week.  For our Mainstream Academy Course,
            students  wear  a  UKTheatreSchool t-shirt (white logo),  plain  black trousers,  leggings  or shorts,  black  socks and
            black jazz shoes.
