Senior School

            Introductory Courses


            Who can attend the Senior School Introductory Courses?
            Students ranging from S2 - age 21 who wish to attend UKTheatreSchool to acquire introductory skills in acting
            and/or musical theatre.


            How often do students attend the Senior School Introductory Courses?
            Students on these courses attend for 1.5 hours, one evening per week.  These classes are on Monday evenings.


            What productions are students on these courses able to be involved in?
            Students on these courses are involved in class sharings to small audiences.  For larger productions, students must
            take part in Mainstream or Advanced courses as rehearsals take place during these class times.


            What is taught in classes?
            During  Introductory  classes,  students  learn  skills  in  either  Acting  or  Musical  Theatre  (depending  on  course
            attended).  The core performing arts subjects include:

            Intro to Acting        Acting technique, role play, improvisation, acting with props, script work, audition
                                   preparation

            Intro to Musical Theatre   Ensemble singing, building on singing repertoire, singing with movement, applying
                                   acting through song, applying technique to performance


            Do students wear uniform?
            Yes, full UKTheatreSchool uniform should be worn to classes each week.  For our Introductory Courses, students
            wear a UKTheatreSchool t-shirt (white logo), plain black trousers, leggings or shorts, black socks and black jazz
            shoes.
