                                    28In January of this year, Governor Laura Kelly charged the Kansas Water Authority(KWA) and state agencies to develop a strategic implementation plan, including funding, based on the five guiding principles of the Kansas Water Plan. Governor Kelly%u2019s request included initial recommendations for a large-scale, long-term investment framework before the 2025 Legislative Session. These recommendations would include policy changes, ways to improve state capacity and water management, measurable goals and timelines, and include input from various state and local stakeholders. Over the past year, state agencies have conducted 14 regional %u201clocal consult%u201d meetings and 28 Regional Advisory Committee (RAC) meetings to discuss investment priorities, policy changes, revenue sources, shared criteria, and more for the development of an investment program for water.
