The Kansas Association of Counties is once again co-hosting Local Government Day for Kansas County members, in partnership with the League of Kansas Municipalities, on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 from 1:00 - 7:00 p.m.As of Thursday, January 9, 2025, there are a total of 43 Kansas County elected officials and staff registered for this important legislative event. We average 80-100 attendees on an annual basis. Your participation is needed and greatly valued, please be sure to register now.County officials from across Kansas will gather for an exciting and informative legislative focused day. In the morning, make appointments at the Capitol to visit with your legislators about issues that are important to your county.In the early afternoon, KAC will provide legislative programming for fellow Kansas county officials at the KAC Office (715 SW 10th Avenue, Topeka, KS 66612). Then in mid-afternoon, we will head over to The Beacon where we will join city officials to hear presentations from legislative leaders. The schedule will be updated as more information becomes available.City and county officials are then invited to join KAC and LKM for an evening reception with legislators at The Beacon in the 2nd Floor Ballroom (420 SW 9th Street, Topeka, KS 66612). All legislators are being invited to this event.This event is free to attend, but we do need you to register as soon as possible, so that we can get an accurate headcount for refreshments. The tentative headcount is due next Wednesday, January 15, 2025 to The Beacon.
