That is $66.7 million, or 6.3%, above the estimate. Total tax collections are up 8.1% from December 2023.%u201cAs I%u2019ve highlighted before, even though our state%u2019s revenues are healthy, we must practice fiscal responsibility,%u201d Governor Laura Kelly said. %u201cThat is how we will continue to maintain economic growth and preserve our fiscal stability.%u201dIndividual income tax collections were $451.5 million, $31.5 million or 7.5% above the estimate, and up 13.7% from December 2023. Corporate income tax collections were $275.4 million, $45.4 million or 19.7% above the estimate, and up 16.8% from December 2023. Combined retail sales and compensating use tax receipts were $285.4 million, $13.6 million or 4.5% below the estimate, and down $17.0 million or 5.6% from December 2023. Click here to view the December 2024 revenue numbers.Governor Kelly Announces More than $1.5M to Support Domestic Violence Survivors and FamiliesTOPEKA (12.30.2024) %u2013 Governor Laura Kelly announced on Monday over $1.5 million for 20 organizations to support efforts aimed at preventing family, domestic, and dating violence, providing critical services to survivors of domestic violence, and increasing safe parenting time for noncustodial parents with their children. This funding comes from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services%u2019 Family Violence Prevention and Services Act (FVPSA) and the State Access and Visitation Program (SAVP).%u201cIt is essential that those impacted by domestic violence have the support and resources needed to heal and rebuild their lives,%u201d Governor Laura Kelly said. %u201cThese investments not only provide aid to survivors of domestic violence but also aim to prevent future incidents from occurring.%u201dThe FVPSA grant funds enable organizations to deliver a wide range of services. These services include outreach and education aimed at preventing family violence, emergency shelter for victims and their dependents, support groups, crisis intervention services, advocacy for obtaining protection from abuse orders, court accompaniment, and transportation assistance. The funding also supports initiatives to spread awareness to schools, communities, and families on how to stop violence before it begins.The SAVP grant funds provide critical funding to support children and families in need of supervised exchange or visitation services. They also enable programs to offer on-site as well as therapeutic supervision, monitored exchanges, referrals to additional resources, and educational parenting classes designed to strengthen family relationships.A total of $1,442,065 in FVPSA grant funds was awarded to 20 agencies.
