Yes, I did.

So, tell me then, you have all these fantastic role models:
your principal, your father, the lawyers, etc. Tell me how that
prepared you for those first few days or even the first few

months at the University of Kansas?

Yes. The University of Kansas is in Lawrence. At that time, in

1956, there were probably about 10,000 students. I would say they
had about 100-to-150-day students and maybe another 100
students or so that commuted. So, it was a small minority
population. I can remember my early days: I lived in a dormitory,

one small room. It was an old army barracks at Kansas called
