ACTIVITY 12 Original Writing

On a separate sheet of paper, write a narrative paragraph (at least six sentences) about an important or
well-known historical event or cultural aspect of your country. Use at least two examples of past verbs
and underline them; try to use more if possible.

Here are some examples of how to begin.
• On August 5, 2010, the entire world watched the rescue of the men trapped in Chile’s San José mine.

• All of Cuba cheered when two of its boxers, Robeisy Ramirez and Roniel Iglesias won Olympic gold
medals in 2012.
• The Japanese art of origami began in the 6th century and, over the years, spread to countries
throughout the world.
