In May 2010, CSCS formed a charities committee with the following mission:

Establish a CSCS Charities Program to support those in our local communities who
are less fortunate than us, making a meaningful difference through exceptional means.

Rose Brooks is an organization whose mission is to end the cycle of domestic violence so that adults, children, and
pets can live free of abuse. In addition to their emergency shelter, which provides over 57,000 safe nights a year
to families escaping violence, Rose Brooks offers safety for family pets in their on-site pet shelter PAWS Place, a
Hotline for individuals in crisis, hospital advocates that meet with patients experiencing domestic abuse-currently
in 13 hospitals and clinics in Kansas City, court advocates to help survivors navigate the legal system, victim
advocates that support police officers on domestic violence calls to protect survivors who may be at a high risk of
being killed, as well as, school-based education through the Project SAFE violence prevention program.

As of December 2019, cash and supply contributions of over $8,500 had been made by CSCS associates. No Co-op
Member monies are used to support Rose Brooks. Cash contributions come from associates via direct donations, as
well as outside fundraisers, such as an annual bake sale, and ticket raffles to Kansas City sporting events.

Throughout the past year we provided support at the center cooking and cleaning in the kitchen, working on
landscaping outside, building benches for residents to enjoy at the playground, painting resident rooms, and
helping to organize their store. We also participated in their annual Holiday Store event that they host in the Ward
Parkway mall each Christmas season. They set up a donation point for approximately two and a half weeks that
provides Christmas for all the children as well as their families that are currently in the center. The amount of
donations far exceeds the needs of the Holiday Season and allows for them to have additional stock in their store
to support incoming families as well as provide gifts for birthdays and other special events they would not have an
              opportunity to otherwise.
