15 RECOMMENDATIONS
• To continue to provide complementary therapies to individuals accessing
MELD services for all substances, and relapse prevention.
• Seek funding to continue the complementary therapy sessions.
• Continue to evaluate and develop the range of complementary therapies
offered.
• Embed the use of complementary therapies in the range of services
available to clients to offer greater recovery outcomes.
• Advertise MELD services in more generic locations to break down barriers
for individuals and the wider community trying to access support.
• Train more MELD staff in auricular acupuncture and increase the number of
sessions and locations so that more people can access this treatment.
• Offer appointment flexibility out with 9.00 am – 5.00 pm to break down
barriers for those in employment/childcare or other caring responsibilities.
