Fast forward two years, October 3, 2019, and

Solvay were facing another layoff, but this time I

volunteered to leave. As I type this, I am thinking

about coworkers saying, "job security" five years ago.

I questioned them: where is the job security for the
ones laid off? There is no such thing as job security!

I am a firm believer that learning to create
opportunities for yourself is the best security.

My mentor Dr. Stan Harris once told me,

"whenever you can't figure out something, I want you

to say this to yourself: 'When I make up my mind to

do something, God will orchestrate circumstances to

align themselves in my favor.” When I say, “I can't”,

my mind stops trying, but when I ask, “how can I”

then my mind keeps searching until it finds away.

And if there is a way, I will find it. And by the grace

of God, I will reinvent it".

Reinventing is what I did. For years, my

coworkers laughed at me because every year, I
