‘The Transition of Humankind into Formed Matter and Measured Time’.
Alter Realism
.
The composition explores the inter-connection between the spiritual plane and material plane of consciousness.
The arrangement refers to the painting of Sophia { Divine Wisdom } and the adaption of the painting of Adam and
Eve ; both elements are from Raphael’s scheme for the Signature Room, commissioned by Pope Julius II in 1508. Eve
holds the sphere of potential knowledge of Good and Evil { alignment and participation ,or non alignment to the
Divine Will}.
The transition of humankind in the participation of the Divine Creation is signified with the backdrop of the painting
‘Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden’ painted by Wenzel Peter {1745-1829}.
The act of incarnation of souls into the spiritual plane of formed matter and measured time through individual
freewill becomes the state of ‘forgetting’.
The earthly Adam and Eve are different and are referenced and adapted from the painting by
Michelangelo’s painted section within the Sistine Chapel ceiling {1508-1512}.
The symbolic reference to ‘Humankind Created in the Image of God’ is suggested by using spheres of light which
represent the Divine consciousness within all humans.
Adam and Eve are seen handing their respective souls to God as a freewill recognition and offering to the Divine
Absolute as the individual act of the spiritual return to the Divine.
