‘The Cloister Garden’ explores the notion that there is no boundary or confinement to the adoration
of creation and spiritual mystery that lies behind its manifestation within this universe.
The ornate patterning and design of the interior space represents the expression and response of
humankind’s philosophical concepts through the language of beauty and religion, but experienced

within the confines and restraint of being within the plane of formed matter and measured time.
The concept for this narrative is based on Worcester Cathedral Cloisters. In addition the elemental

aspects are referenced from my visits to the Italian Alps in the Monte Rosa Region, the fountain
from Gloucester Cathedral and my personal woodland.
