This ‘Alter Realist’ painting encapsulates the dynamic values of  Elizabeth’s life … her dreams and
                                                                          visions and achievement in a life lived. The transience of the journey in that we cannot hold on to the
                                                                          material world we have created. Within this loss is the moment of value of what we had.

                                                                          The triptych also portrays the state of being by wanting to hold on to the realisation of loss and hope of
                                                                          something greater.

                                                                          The Mausoleum and its interior setting creates so well these feelings that Elizabeth faced whilst knowing
                                                                          that she was gravely ill with appendicitis.  The statue was created by Mathew Cotes Wyatt who was
                                                                          youngest son of James Wyatt (architect to Elizabeth in the concept and construction of the castle) the
                                                                          sculpture is a work of art in its sincerity of expression. It has such feeling and captures that human
                                                                          moment of realisation of immanent loss and sight of possible reunion with her lost children.
                                                                          Being a moment of sadness and joy. The memorial piece has Elizabeth’s children coming to greet her
                                                                          whereas in life they may have become a memory or a dream. The lighting effect is such that the roof
                                                                          light and side stained glass windows create an “Otherness” - a light from beyond the material world.
                                                                          The centre section of the painting depicts the interior of the Mausoleum and represents Elizabeth’s
                                                                          parting .The outer sections of the composition are a testament to Elizabeth’s dream and achievement in
                                                                          her life; a legacy to be handed down to future generations of the family to nurture what has been created.
