The painting considers the idea of sug-
gested space, the subject of a woman tend-
ing the garden is seen only as a reflected
form; apparent only in the mirror. The
viewer is placed between the inner world
of the mirror and its reflections and the
outer space behind, which is suggested by
the light direction and highlights formed
on the table and flower arrangement.
