The Rose Garden, ‘ The Days that have Past’
Violet, 8th Duchess of Rutland

material life and the collective consciousness of the cosmos.
Equally the thought that what has been created is an affirmation to a life lived and serves as a legacy to the future.
Violet, invites the viewer to enter her world and time that has passed yet still remains. The pose of Violet was referenced from the

The pose accentuates the moment of engagement with the viewer.
The Rose garden was created by Violet in collaboration with the renowned garden designer Sir Harold Peto, who was a leading
Garden designer in the then fashionable Italianate School of style.
Violet, was a talented artist in her own right, as a portraitist and sculptor where her work was exhibited at the Royal Academy.
