The narrative in the painting relates to the rhythms of the sea and sense
                                                                            of the natural world. Susan looks onto the shiny wet sand where the sea
                                                                            has receded before racing in again when it leaves jewel- like shells glint-
                                                                            ing in the sunlight.
                                                                            In the distance, Gulls flock and dive - alluding to the wildness of nature.
                                                                            The breeze blows against her dress and she is totally caught up within
                                                                            her embrace of the elements.
