Inspiring . . .
Ray,
My fondest memories of high school all involve band, stage band
and orchestra, participating as a percussionist from 1971 to
1974. That was culminated by our trip to Expo ‘74 where we won
the Outstanding Performance trophy at the Jazz Band & Swing
Choir Festival.
Following high school, I continued performing with Clark College
and the University of Portland bands & orchestras while I pursued
an engineering degree. Following college, I joined the Westwinds
Community Band and later the Vancouver Symphony where I was a
member for 16 years. I had to leave due to work & travel conflicts.
I have continued to perform with the Westwinds and have joined the
Camas-Washougal Community Orchestra in recent years. With the
Westwinds, I was delighted to perform with you for several seasons when
you were part of the trumpet section. In the last several years, you’ve
written various orchestral pieces for the Camas-Washougal Community
Orchestra and it has been a joy to perform those pieces and visit with you
at the performances.
I’ve been an engineer with FM Global for 42 years and plan to retire this
year. I’ve been married to my wife Tammie for 40 years and we have 3
kids and 4 grandchildren.
I look forward to the resumption of rehearsals later in 2021
