INTERVIEW WITH THE HOMEOWNER
PURCHASED HOME 2005
Q: What made you fall in love with the home?
A: We moved to Easton in 1998 because we fell in love with the street. We were one of the
earlier residents and moved into a new house on the cul-de-sac where we lived for seven
years. When 100 Old Stonewall came on the market we realized it had everything we were
looking for: a pool, extra bathrooms, a level lot that I could garden in and a walkout lower
level. In 2005 we packed up and moved three houses away into this home. We definitely
wanted to stay on the block, stay in Easton and enjoy the extra amenities this house
provided our family.
Q: Tell us about the renovation process-
A: We have renovated and made many upgrades throughout the years:
-Custom kitchen with high end appliances, gas range, coffee bar and plenty of storage.
-We added pavers from the lower walk-out sliders to the pool area and around the pool.
-We installed a new wood fence in driveway and fencing in the woods. The driveway fence
railing matches the deck railing. The backyard is totally fenced in.
-We paved the driveway.
-Replaced builders’ deck with a custom Ipe deck.
-Pool house with power
-New energy efficient windows and doors in kitchen and sunroom
-Whole house generator
Q: Why are we moving ?
A: We have a new home in Florida and will miss Easton a lot. It's truly been home for us!
Q: Will we miss the neighbors/ neighborhood?
A: Yes. The neighbors are great! No one is overbearing but will be there to help if you need
anything. Many have been here a long time and our grown kids played together when they
were young.
Q: Tell me about the grounds:
A: The view of the woods behind the house is wonderful to watch in every season. We have
done a lot to make the yard peaceful and beautiful. There were no perennial gardens
here when we moved in and I have put my heart and soul into the gardens. Besides the
perennial gardens and pool there are hummingbirds from early May till September. Hang
a hummingbird feeder off the deck, take a seat in a lounge chair and watch them up close.
They will hover right in front of you. We will miss our yard the most but it will make me
happy to think the next owners will love it and enjoy it the way we have.
Q: What makes the property special?
A: The yard, the location, being on a cul-de-sac, the small town feel of Easton, the open spaces
close by, and easy access to shopping.
