THINGS WE'LL MISS ABOUT LIFE AT 6 WILLOWBROOK DRIVE
Morning walks to town with my dog; strolling along the Saugatuck River, past the
Levitt Pavillion, enjoying the varied and exotic wildlife along the shore.
Walking to Coffee ‘An donuts for a fresh treat on Sunday mornings or a walk
downtown to meet a friend for coffee or lunch on the patio at Aux Delices.
Quiet times spent sitting in my tranquil garden with a good book and a cup of coffee or a
glass of wine.
The flow of the house…it’s cozy and keeps the family close, yet it provides each member
ample privacy and independence.
Watching the riot of perennials emerge one by one in the spring, especially the bearded irises,
peonies, hostas, astilbe, and bleeding hearts.
The beautiful distressed corbels and mantel on the fireplace that I hand-picked from United
House Wrecking in Stamford.
The gorgeous custom tile work and fixtures in the kitchen and two upstairs bathrooms…we
enjoyed them every day!
Our super friendly neighbors who were warm, kind, positive, and non-judgmental.
The warmth of gathering in the family room around the fire to watch a movie together,
play games or enjoy spirited conversation.
After-school snacks and homework moments around the kitchen island in the
afternoon.
Heading to Compo Beach in the afternoons for some sun and a dip in the Sound.
Beautiful motorcycle rides in the wooded landscape of the surrounding areas full of
streams, hills and unique outlets like the Spinning Wheel and the Aspetuck Apple Barn
.
Bicycle rides on the beautiful country roads of Fairfield County dotted with barns and
colonial style architecture, so charming!
The incredible efficiency and functionality of the kitchen with custom cabinetry for every
need: the lazy susan, spice drawer, microwave drawer, pull-out pantry cabinets, insta-hot
and lots of storage space. It’s wonderful to cook dinner every night in that kitchen!
I really miss the ample closet space and his/hers system in the master bedroom.
I miss the butterfly mural, a canopy over my creative space in the music room where I wrote songs on
my grand piano for my children and the people I love.
