An Interview with...
THE OWNERS OF 35 LASKAY DRIVE
Q: What made you fall in love with this home?
A: Location, atop a hill with views of neighboring orchards.
I loved how it was set in the woods bordered by property never to be developed, close enough to
neighboring towns and shopping but far enough to feel as though you are on vacation.
Q: What are some of the improvements you appreciate most?
A: Once a simple cape, the house has been transformed into a uniquely designed artist retreat.
We have done so much to this home to take advantage of natural light and views. We bring the
outside in almost every room. The full bath in the studio really makes a pig difference as guests
can appreciate their private space, yoga students can freshen up after I make them sweat, and
before or after a dip in the pool it is great to take a fresh clean shower.
Q: Do you have a favorite room or space?
A: After living here for nearly 40 years I continue to feel as if it is all brand new. Since I teach yoga,
the studio could be considered my favorite, but as a musician I get lost in time plating drums in
my “man cave”, but I absolutely love playing the piano as I watch the sunset over the western
horizon, and the sunporch is perfect for my morning coffee...it is just too hard to pick a favorite.
Q: Why are you moving?
A: Although it was always my intent to live here for the duration of my life, after my wife passed and
son moved away for college I felt it was time to move somewhere else as the space became too
large for one man. Start the next chapter...or should I say “book”. I want someone who can truly
appreciate all that this home offers to experience the joy that I have felt all these years. I have to
admit it is going to be a very hard day when I hand over the keys.
Q: Tell us about the neighborhood...
A: The neighborhood represents country living at its best. It is filled with land preserves, hiking
trails, reservoirs, forests, quaint local country shops, farms, farm stands and most significantly
fresh air. Three acre zoning offers privacy beyond comparison.
