INTERVIEW WITH
THE HOMEOWNER
What made you fall in love with 120 Parkwood Road?
What made us fall in love in the first place, and still to this day, is the very wide street, with
beautifully landscaped properties, and with wonderful neighbors but also deep lots that we
could have privacy. It was and is an idyllic place to raise a family and live a wonderful life. As
for 120 Parkwood specifically, Laurie loved the home so much that she dropped a note in the
mailbox to the owner saying we'd love to buy the home if they ever wanted to sell. Some
number of years later the son of the original owner, Helen Peterson, called us and asked if
we would like to buy it. We jumped at the chance! It's like it was meant to be for us and
we've poured our hearts into making this a special home ever since.
Tell us about the grounds.
In terms of our backyard space, all we can say is we LOVE IT. When we first moved into the
house 20+ years ago we put in a patio. We have always loved nice stonework so we hired
some great masons to put in a beautiful patio. Then when COVID hit we realized we need a
bigger space, so we greatly extended our patio and put in a pool and a fire pit. It was the best
decision we ever made. Ever since we have enjoyed the fire pit and pool year round. It's our
private oasis every day!
Why are you moving?
We are moving because I have joined a company in Dallas and we are building an in-office
culture. While we are very excited to be moving to Dallas, moving away from Fairfield and
our home here is very bittersweet.
Will you miss the neighborhood?
We have lived in Fairfield for over 25 years. It's our home. It's where we had a family and
raised our children. It will always be home and have the most special place in our hearts. We
will miss all of our neighbors and Fairfield overall so much. It will be hard for us after 20+
years of enjoying Fairfield and raising our family here.
