TOP 10 THINGS WE'LL MISS ABOUT LIFE ON OLD ACADEMY ROAD
1. The amazingly logical FLOW of the home. Every room and every
space has a purpose. Old world construction quality combined with a very
thoughtful layout (and plenty of storage) makes for a special place. The house
just makes sense when you live in it.
2. The SITING of the home with its full-on SOUTHERN EXPOSURE enveloping the
back of the house with sunshine and natural light year-round. It never gets old.
3. Waking up in the 1st FLOOR MASTER BEDROOM and looking out over the park-like
grounds and glorious meadows. Seeing and hearing the abundance of BIRD LIFE that
share the property with us.
4. COOKING a nice meal in the OPEN KITCHEN/FAMILY ROOM with family and friends
while watching sports on TV or listening to music. Dessert and family Scrabble games
in front of the fire.
5. ENTERTAINING! Hosting summer farm parties, jam sessions, and playing lawn
games with all the kids and dogs in the spectacular BACK YARD. In the winter,
sledding with the neighbors across the meadow followed by hot chocolate for the
kiddos and adult beverages for the parents in front of the warm fire. Four seasons
of fun!
6. The CURB APPEAL of the front of the house. The American flag proudly waving
next to the main entrance, the magnificent copper beech tree, the flowering
dogwoods, and the mature landscaping from Oliver Nurseries make for the
quintessential New England Cape home setting.
7. The PROXIMITY of the home makes it incredibly convenient to get to
Fairfield, Southport, Westport, Easton, Weston and Redding. Easy access to
expansive Aspetuck Land Trust trail system and a quick walk to the Greenfield Hill
Congregational Church.
8. The PRIVACY and TRANQUILITY of the setting. The house is an oasis of calm.
9. The "KIDS FLOOR" (aka as the 2nd floor) which gave our two girls their own space,
privacy and independence while allowing their parents and guests/inlaws the same on the
first floor.
10. Luxuriating in the MASTER BATHROOM STEAM SHOWER on a cold winter's day.
