AN INTERVIEW WITH THE NOONAN FAMILY
PROUD HOMEOWNERS OF 1381 OLD ACADEMY ROAD SINCE 2000

WHAT MADE YOU FALL IN LOVE WITH THIS HOME?
We fell in love with our home's storybook curb appeal, park-like setting and the beautiful
rural character of Greenfield Hill. It felt so private yet was so close to everything. The
fact that the original owners, Homer & Marge Batman, had built and lived in the home for
nearly 50 years and named it "Bluebird Meadows" added an authentic charm to the place.
We pictured our children playing with our dogs and the neighborhood kids in the expansive
backyard and hosting large gatherings of friends and family. The house itself was impeccably
built and lovingly cared for by the original owners.

PLEASE DESCRIBE THE RENOVATION PROCESS ...
The house needed a kitchen/family room for modern living so we expanded the existing kitchen
taking care to respect the original character of the house but creating a feeling of spaciousness
with the larger area and high ceilings. It turned out beautiful and is where we spend much of our
time. With our addition we captured even greater views of the meadow than those we already
had before. We also added a luxurious new master bathroom to complete our private oasis in the
                       master bedroom wing.

DID YOU EVER CONSIDER A POOL?
Yes, we considered it seriously and there is a perfect location off the patio should a new owner
desire such an amenity. Additionally, we invested in an extensive native landscape design for
the entire property which we are happy to transfer to the new owners.

                         WHY ARE YOU MOVING?
We are about to become "empty nesters" and have job opportunity abroad -- a life experience
                          which has always intrigued us.

                          WILL YOU MISS THE NEIGHBORS?

Absolutely. We have become close friends with all our neighbors, past and present, and
will maintain that connection going forward. We have lots of fond memories of raising our
children together, co-hosting neighborhood parties on New Year's Eve and walking up to the
Greenfield Hill Congregational Church for the annual tree lighting and caroling.

TELL US ABOUT THE GROUNDS ...
Special. Unspoiled. We chose to keep half the property as a natural meadow with tall grass
and wildflowers (low maintenance!) and have always loved the mature trees, especially the
copper beech out front. The way the house is laid out, in a "horseshoe" shape enclosing a
southern-facing courtyard patio, has allowed us to enjoy a truly indoor-outdoor lifestyle. The
views from the house are simply breathtaking.

WHAT IS IT LIKE HAVING A FIRST-FLOOR MASTER?

We love retreating to the privacy of our first floor master bedroom suite, which, by day, is bathed in sun
on three sides (especially in the bay window where we like to sit and read) and in the evening has serene
views onto our property illuminated by beautiful moonlight. Even though our children were small when we
first moved in, they enjoyed having their own space upstairs and we used a baby monitor at night until they
       grew bigger.
