TOP 10 THINGS WE WILL MISS ABOUT 274 RIDGEFIELD ROAD
1. We have loved living in and thoughtfully restoring this Wilton landmark
with all of it's history, charm and unique architectural detail. So many original
features such as the intercom buttons, Rumford fireplaces, stained glass panels
and some wavy glass windows.
2. The beautifully landscaped grounds that unfold throughout the course of all 4
seasons. The windows throughout the home make it so easy to bring the outside in.
3. So convenient! Within minutes you can get to the train station, the schools, and
town for dinner, the market or getting all of your errands done.
4. Cooking and entertaining is so enjoyable in the centrally located gourmet kitchen
which is easy to navigate whether it be for easy family dinners or large scale holiday
gatherings. Making wood-fired pizza in the working beehive oven in the Rumford
fireplace in the dining room comes out delicious every time!
5. Getting to any part of the house is so easy with the open circular floor plan. The
front and rear staircases make it a snap to get to either wing of the 2nd floor, and
the elevator makes moving laundry and suitcases a breeze.
6. Housing multi-generational families is so easy. The back wing has served as
wonderful guest space with its own full bath, sitting room and 2 bedrooms. The
finished attic has been a kids haven for sleepovers for many years.
7. Relaxation and de-stressing are the name of the game. Enjoying a steam
shower in the master bath, or having a crackling fire going while watching a
movie. Playing music on the surround sound, while doing paperwork in the office
or curling up with a good book in the family room.
8. Grilling and dining on the stone patio from spring through fall. Overlooking the
meadow with heirloom and apple trees, not to mention the beautiful wildlife and
assortment of birds that enjoy the meadow as much as we do is a true pleasure.
9. The circular driveway and expansive parking area is so easy to access the garage or
host many visitors for parties and gatherings.
10. We love to take walks or go for a run on the side street, Middlebrook Farm Road, which is
accessible via a small path in the rear of the property.
