AN INTERVIEW WITH THE HOMEOWNERS

We are sadly moving out of the area because the job we moved here for was not a good fit. In fact it was a very bad
fit, or we would have found a way to stay in this amazing home. Also, because of a family health issue, we are required
to live close to where Lynn works, so that he is very accessible. (Amy works from home, and has been deeply inspired to
paint and write in this ever-changing, dramatic setting.)

YES. First, just after we moved in a couple of neighbors stopped by to introduce themselves. They were so happy to
have us here! Then we had a lemonade sale here last summer when we first met many of the neighbors, a couple of
them immediately invited us to their homes and we have since become friends. We also had a lovely Christmas party
here (this house is so great for entertaining!) where we got to know many of the neighbors in the area. There are many
families with young children and teenagers around, all open to getting to know their neighbors, but all also very
respectful of others' privacy. There is a nice, eclectic mix of interests and backgrounds in this area— some having lived
here for years, and some relative newcomers to this part of the country. This neighborhood can be exactly what you
make of it— you can be private and anonymous if you choose, or you can get to know some very kind, interesting
people.

Half of the value of this place is in the outdoor space. It has been a treasure for my children to climb trees, build paths
through the wetlands, make secret forts, and find all kinds of interesting rocks and wildlife, all in our backyard. The
extensive flat yard is available for every type of field sport or just fun for kids to run and roll on. I have enjoyed planting
vegetables in the flats on the lower level and in the boxes off the family room. The roses that surround the house are
spectacular! We were planning to build a track around the perimeter for biking and running if we stayed longer. The
front porch is one of my favorite places to spend time, on the swing or the hammock, watching my children play ball,
ride bikes, or other rolling things along the driveway. The wildlife sitings and inspiring images here are endless.

In addition to our own property being a haven for outdoor fun, we can easily get to Bret Woods down the street for
cross country skiing in the winter and for running, hiking and biking in the warmer months. We also enjoy visiting Trout
Brook that is only a few miles away and offers endless additional trails with lovely terrain. Then, if we head the other way,
we get to go to the Audubon Society where we have made friends and learned a lot about our local wildlife. Finally, I
enjoy runs down gorgeous Congress street, through the Audubon, down Burr, and through the center of Greenfield Hill.
Other days, I run down to Catamount, running along the side of the Patterson Club, enjoying scenic views of woods,
rolling hills, horses, and antique homes. I know all of the quiet streets to run down, and I can't get enough of them!

One last thing-- What makes this spot so special is that it is a SECRET gem. One to be treasured. We have access to
Westport (about three minutes or less away,) Easton, Redding, and Fairfield, yet we don't get a great deal of cross-
traffic or random cars traveling through our neighborhood. It is a peaceful, happy place to live, and we hope the next
owners are blessed to enjoy it as much as we have for the sadly short time we have been here.
