TOP 10 THINGS WE'LL MISS ABOUT LIFE AT MOREHOUSE HWY ...
1. We will all miss the amount of flowing space that the house
provides. We have had dinners parties for my husband's firm; baseball
parties for my son's team; semi-formal after parties, New Year's Eve
parties for our family, etc... and the house never seemed too crowded. It's a
wonderful home to entertain guests.
2. We will miss swimming and laying out by the pool. We never had the
expense of having to join some kind of pool club or trying to pack up everything
to go to the beach. Even when the kids were small, everyone wanted to come
here so it was much easier. It's like being at a beautiful resort.
3. We will miss the wide variety of birds and their beautiful sounds when sitting
outside. Sometimes in the summer, it sounds like you're in a bird sanctuary or at
some tropical resort. It's truly wonderful!
4. We will miss having the privacy of our home and yet having a huge
neighborhood right behind us. My husband and I got the privacy we wanted and
the kids enjoyed being so close to lots of other kids.
5. We will also miss being so close to Brennan's at the golf course. It's only two
minutes from the house if we want to go for dinner or cocktails and in the summer,
the kids used to go for bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches. In the winter, they have
a cozy fireplace with a seating area so you can have a drink by the fire.
6. We will miss all the lovely gas fireplaces in the house. If you are in the living
room, the den or the master bedroom, you can have a lovely, cozy fire (even if you
only want to for five or ten minutes). We use them a lot..
7. We will miss the guest house too. We are from Maine, so when we have
friends or family with many members, they tend to stay for at least a week.
Usually they like to stay over there. It gives everyone a bit of space when it's time
for kids to settle down. Honestly, our friends are going to miss our house as much
as we will.
8. I will miss my gas stove. I never cooked with gas until we moved here and
I was afraid that I wouldn't like it but I love it! It would be hard to go back to
electric.
9. We all enjoy our workout room in the basement. There's plenty of room for
the weight machine, treadmill, elliptical machine, free weights, etc... A luxury we all
have been taking for granted with all the space we have.
10. We will miss the feeling of living in a nice quiet area but being so close to shopping
centers. The mall is only 10 or 15 minutes away and the stores on Black Rock Turnpike,
the same. It's the best of both worlds.
