HOMEOWNER
What made you fall in love with the home?
It was the privacy and the peace that instantly drew
us in. Coming from New York City, this felt like our
very own escape. The moment we arrived, we could
breathe deeply. There’s something about being
surrounded by nature, hearing only the sounds of
the trees and birds, that made it feel like a true
sanctuary.
Describe your renovation process:
We took the home on the main level down to the
studs to create a completely open and spacious
layout that reflects how we live and connect as a
family. Every choice was intentional, designed to
enhance flow, comfort, and a strong sense of
togetherness. You can feel the openness the
moment you walk in. The renovations brought new
life to the home and created spaces where we truly
love spending time together.
Why are you moving?
As much as we adore this home, we’re relocating to
be closer to family. It’s a personal decision that
comes from a place of love and connection, and
we’re hoping the next owners will find as much
happiness here as we have.
Tell us about the grounds:
The property is absolutely incredible. We have
spent countless hours outside grilling, playing tag,
and just enjoying the natural beauty around us.
Watching deer and bunnies pass through has
become a peaceful daily ritual. The grounds feel like
an extension of the home, where kids can explore
and adults can unwind.
What makes your property so special?
It is the rare combination of total privacy and
the ability to truly disconnect. The home is
surrounded by woods and natural beauty,
which gives it a sense of calm and separation
from the world. It feels like a retreat, yet you
are only minutes from everything Fairfield
has to offer.
Have you considered installing a pool?
We never felt the need to install a pool even
though it is possible. Fairfield has an
incredible selection of beaches that we
frequent often, and Lake Mohegan is just
around the corner with its trails, and
swimming area. We also spend our summers
visiting family overseas and at a seasonal
home, so the time we are here, we prefer to
enjoy nature and the many outdoor
amenities the town provides.
Will you miss the neighbors?
Absolutely. This is one of the most inviting
neighborhoods we’ve ever lived in. Everyone
on our street is friendly, inclusive, and
respectful of one another’s space and time.
During the winter holidays we all celebrated
together, and throughout the year the
children run through the woods between
homes to play. There’s a strong sense of
community that will be very hard to leave.
