TOP 10 THINGS WE’LL MISS ABOUT LIFE AT
470 PEQUOT AVENUE
1. Being WALKING distance to everything! TRAIN,
restaurants, Post Office, Pharmacy, gourmet food
store, Driftwood, Southport gym, barber, Art Gallery,
Kasson Jewelers, Pequot Library ...
2. Sitting on our private patio, lit by our gas lantern,
listening to the birds, church bells & distant train
whistles.
3. Living in a historic home, feeling the real sense of
authenticity in its original wide plank flooring etc. we
learned the value of collaborating with the Historic
District in preserving Southport history.
4. Sitting in front of our gas fireplace after a busy day!
5. Eating dinner on a cool evening in our dining room
in front of our custom, built-in electric fireplace.
6. Having amazing neighbors who show genuine
friendship while having "privacy" at the same time.
7. Easily walking - about 5 mins! - to Southport Harbor,
Pequot Yacht Club & Ye Olde Dock!
8. Watching (from our front porch!) the Annual Blessing
of the Fleet parade. The Governor's Horse Guard sits
right across from the front yard! Walking to Pequot
Library for the holiday horse-drawn carriage rides, for
concerts, book sales, authors' talks & so much more!
9. Caring for my contemplative garden, filled w/
Russian sage, lavender, hydrangeas & much more.
10. Watching our 11 year old, blind chocolate lab feel
safe & loved in our fenced yard, as every passerby
showers him w/ love & attention.
