Danbury is a thriving and diverse city
located in western Connecticut that focuses
on preserving and providing a superior
quality of life for residents. Danbury’s
          excellent transportation connections to
both New England and New York make it a
          hidden gem within Connecticut. With
          convenient access via Metro-North, I-84,
and US-7, Danbury offers seamless travel
options. Despite its proximity to these
          bustling metropolitan areas, Danbury has
          successfully preserved its small-town
          charm.

Known as the “Hat City,” Danbury was the
center of the American hat industry
          between the nineteenth and twentieth
centuries. Although Danbury has moved on
from producing hats, the local businesses
continue to keep history alive by
          referencing the hatting industry. Today,
          Danbury has expanded to producing
          electronics, machinery, and furniture.

Danbury takes pride in its diverse economy,
which is made up of several major
industries, a vibrant cultural scene, and a
strong sense of community. Not only is
Danbury positioned among the foothills of
the Berkshire Mountains, but it's home to
the southern part of Connecticut's largest
lake, Candlewood Lake. Danbury boasts a
serene environment with an abundance of
          outdoor activities.

From festivals to food trucks to farmers
markets, there is always something exciting
happening in this city. The town
          government is responsive, innovative, and
invested in making Danbury a great place
to live for all residents. Coupled with its
wide range of amenities and welcoming
atmosphere, Danbury truly stands out as a
unique and special place to call home.
