BASEL CHRONICLES | EDITORIAL | APRIL 2021
Jesus stayed with the disciples for forty
days, preparing them to face this world.
After Jesus ascended to heaven, the king-
dom work was not stopped, but it was
passed on to the disciples to carry for-
ward. We had a similar situation in India
when foreign missions were called off, it
was the Indian missionaries who backed
up the mission. These missions are at
threat now, it is our time to pick up the
missions that Jesus left us with.
Jesus coming to life becomes the founda-
tion of our belief, the crux of Christianity,
this has to be recapped in us as we con-
front this disruptive world. Even though
it’s very challenging to discern the truth
that Jesus lives in our times, we nd the
falsehood of the world more espousing.
Hence let us not be discouraged, but let
this Lenten season help us to pursue, to
know the truth and the truth is, ‘He is
alive.’
This very realization should help us to,
'Arise’ and bring in changes within our
communities.
Our communities need to experience com-
passion and care even more than before,
in this pandemic,
This Lenten season let us fast and feed
others. Let us x our eyes on the cross
and Jesus the one, who came to give life
through His death, so we can live and
share this world with all creation. To do so
we are nding different ways like virtual,
to connect with people to ll them with life.
And our churches have extended their
boundaries to reach out to the unreached.
