A WORD FROM THE EXECUTIVE OFFICER
To all Colorado DeMolay and Advisors,
I cannot believe it has already been a year. I must say it has been a very successful one at
that! I have heard from many of you and from many others in our great Masonic family about
the enthusiasm and excitement in the air. This is exactly what we wanted to accomplish this
year. We have reinstated the Court of Chevaliers and it has proven to be very beneficial to our
Order. I look forward to strengthening our relationship with the court and working together as a
unit to benefit the young men of Colorado DeMolay.
Our State Master Councilor, Tim Zumalt has had a wonderful year. His communication and
enthusiasm for the order have been paramount. Tim didn’t make it through without a few
bumps, but through it all, I am very proud of him and he should be very proud of himself. I look
forward to him joining our Masonic ranks shortly. I am certain he will be a tremendous asset.
As a whole, our State Line Officers really did a great job of working together as one cohesive
unit. The DeMolay Degree performed at the Scottish rite Reunion could not have gone any
better. The partnership with El Jebel Shrine and the Circus was also a great success. From ad
campaigns to sponsorships, open houses, and visitations, we have spent a lot of time this
year, getting the DeMolay name out in Colorado. We could not have done this without all the
support from all of our Masonic leaders. This coming year will prove to be a milestone for
DeMolay in Colorado. We are going to be working on new and exciting programs, and we’ll
also be focusing on membership and retention. None of what we have accomplished this year
could have been done without all the hard work and support from the Advisors. I would like to
tell each and every one of you Thank you for what you do for DeMolay day in and day out. I
would also like to thank each and every DeMolay for making our jurisdiction proud. You all
have done great work and it does not go without notice. We are facing a very busy year
ahead, and I hope I can count on each and every one of you to keep doing what you are doing
while continuing to support and encourage our youth.
Everyone who believes in our virtues, commits to them and practices them 24/7, both in public
and in private is to be commended for their faithfulness and true understanding of the Order of
DeMolay and our commitment to the youth. The ultimate trait of leadership is integrity and
without it, success is not possible. Our future is in the hands of our youth and through them we
will see success in the future.
“Tomorrow is the most important thing in life. Comes into us at midnight so very clean. It’s per-
fect when it arrives and it puts itself in our hands. It hopes we have learned something from
yesterday.” ~ Brother John Wayne
Let’s continue our commitment to work with the youth today, so they can bring success for
tomorrow.
Fraternally,
“Dad” Jon Sellars
Executive Officer, Colorado DeMolay
