4-0-5 Teaching staff participate in professional and academic development programs in
accordance with a plan that meets their needs and contributes to the development of their
            performance.
In Al-Baha University there is management of developing the skills of faculty members to enhance
the performance of faculty members in many aspects, hence, the education outcomes, scientific
research field, and community service. The faculty development department provided several
training courses to prepare the new faculty members and enhance their capability to hold their
responsibilities with confidence and the required skills to improve their academic performance. In
addition, they allow the repeat of the training courses in case of low attendance, encouraging
faculty members to complete these beneficial courses (Annex S4-0-5-1 Department of Faculty’s
Skills Development – Al-Baha University). The faculty development department provides a
continuous development process into several training courses targeting all faculty members,
including lecturers and demonstrators (Annex S4-0-5-2 Department of Faculty’s Skills Development –
Al-Baha). The faculty members in the Mechanical engineering department are highly qualified and
have acquired several skills from the many training courses they attended (Annex S4-0-5-3
            Training courses for faculty staff).
Faculty members' satisfaction with technical services is crucial for maintaining an effective and
productive academic environment. Technical services play a vital role in supporting faculty
members' teaching, research, and administrative tasks, and their quality and efficiency directly
impact faculty members' ability to perform their duties effectively. The (Annex S4-0-5-4 A
questionnaire of faculty members’ satisfaction with technical services) shows a questionnaire of
faculty members’ satisfaction with technical services from Al-Baha University.
4-0-6 The performance of the teaching staff is regularly assessed according to specific and
published criteria; feedback is provided to them; and the results are used in improving the
            performance.
The faculty members are assessed based on specific criteria and different assessment resources.
The head of the Mechanical department assesses the faculty members individually based on five
assessment sections, including teaching performance, contributing to course development and
implementing quality models, personal attributes and skills, research activities and professional
